What is an online voting system for institutions?
It's a platform that replaces paper ballots, show-of-hands votes, or informal polls with a secure, verifiable digital process: ballot design, voter eligibility checks, vote casting, and result reporting, typically for elections run by schools, associations, cooperatives, or similar member-based organizations rather than national government elections.
Is SMS voting secure?
It can be, if it's built correctly. VoteSure sends each voter an individually generated, single-use link by SMS rather than one shared link for everyone, so the security comes from the uniqueness of the link and the voter register check behind it, not from SMS itself. A single link shared with a whole group, without additional identity checks, cannot guarantee one vote per person, which is why we treat that mode differently for anything an institution calls a binding election.
Can we use our own branding on the ballot?
Yes. Your logo and colors appear on the ballot itself, the SMS voters receive, and every report generated afterward.
What happens if the network fails partway through an election?
The election continues running on schedule; votes already cast are safely recorded, and any voter who couldn't complete their vote can retry once connectivity returns, up until the scheduled close time. Nothing about the ballot or the timing changes because of a temporary outage on either side.
How is one-vote-per-person actually enforced?
Every voter is checked against the uploaded register before their vote is accepted, and the system records that they've voted the instant their ballot is cast, inside the same operation, so a duplicate attempt is rejected rather than possibly slipping through. Critically, the record of who has voted is kept structurally separate from the record of what they voted for, so this check never requires exposing anyone's individual choice.
Can associations or institutions outside Ghana use VoteSure?
Yes. The platform isn't tied to Ghana specifically; institutions anywhere can onboard, and SMS delivery works wherever the relevant carrier routes are supported. Reach out with your country and voter count and we'll confirm delivery for your region.
